I am so sick to death of my internet ------  2 weeks ago I downloaded telstra's 24x7 app and checked my usage as we had been slowed down to less then dial up speed (nothing opens ).  And was over the noon to see the "NEED MORE DATA OPTION" so I when our new billing month came around I thought I would finally be able to do all of the much needed updates to my phone and computer.... BUT then when I tried to aply the free data update it failed....

 

SO NOW WHAT IS MY OPTIONs - I want a data upgrade for once OR even better to be able to get ADSL

 

It is so unfair that again and again the same people get ALL the new upgrades. If my house was just 1km down the road my home internet would have been upgraded from ADSL to ADSL 2 and soon the NBN, I would be able to bundle my home phone with my internet. It would be much cheaper and I could get anywhere from 20gb upto unlimitied internet...PLUS be able to get 3 FREE data grades a year.   I AM SO FED UP WITH THIS

 

I PAY ..............$80 a month to TELSTRA for 15gb of internet

                        $30 a month for home phone rental

                        PLUS phone calls ( pay for all phone calls i make )

 

Then once we run out of data I use ALDI-moblie so the family can use the internet for school ect... for the rest of the month

                       $50 for 6gb  

 

SO MY TOTAL each month is around $160 plus phone calls

 

How much would it cost me if I lived in a city

no internet access but recharge credit is good. have tried turning the device on and off. the telstra phone exchange is 200 meters from my place at salisbury,queensland,4107. i can go to http://m.home to check connection but no internet access.

Hey all, first time posting here.

I have an Aircard 785S that I've been using for several months with no issues. Last night I accidentally forgot to turn it off. When I have tried to use it this morning, all I get is an ornage light that pulses slowly about every 15 seconds. I have put it on charge (for over 2 hours now) and even tried a factory reset and  I have tried removing the battery as well, but it is totally unresponsive. The LCD display won't come up at all.

 

Anyone had similar problems or possibly know what the issue could be?

As the title suggests I am wondering is the Netgear smart cradle compatible with the Telstra 4G Advance 3 (aircard 810s) which was just released a few days ago, Will I get the full potential out of the mobile hotspot if this is compatable ?

While using telstra mobile or usb dongle on telstra network, I am unable to contact the following host:

 

mail.sthxprod.com.au   59.100.124.2

 

Works on adsl etc. and other carriers

I have recently re-activated my 4G Advanced mobile broadband with a $50.00 prepaid one year Sim. It still works great with high speeds on 4G and is ideal for travel.

 

The screen is displaying the message ' Usage meter cannot be displayed at this time'. I checked with my local Telstra store at Hervey Bay and was told that Telstra was in the process of upgrading the Telstra My Account site. This was over one month ago.

 

I have read the other older posts on this topic which do not resolve the matter.

 

I also sent a help request to Telstra support and was told that they could not help me at this time??

 

Note this post is on 6/10/2015.

• My partner has received a data share sim card with his phone plan but what devices can we use it in?  I have spoken on live chat several times each time receiving a different answer.  (helpful not at all)
• Can I use this data share sim card in mobile broadband wifi device (I already have one on a plan in my name)
• If I can how do I buy one that isn't already locked to the sim card it comes with (ie. prepaid ones already have a sim in them)
• If I can't then exactly what devices can I use it in as you cannot even put it in a phone to hotspot!!
• And my partner has and loves an ancient Nokia which you cannot hotspot either (his account in seperate to mine)

 

Please just a direct answer of what devices it can be used in.  Thank you.

Running Windows 8.1 Pro, I can acces the internet using the Telstra Mobile Broadband and I can connect to the Cisco VPN, however I cannot connect to any servers or ping and devices on the work network. If I connect to the internet via a wirelss connection, outside Telstra Mobile Broadband, I can connect to the VPN and connect to the servers and ping IP addresses on the network. It appears the issue is with the Telstra Mobile Broadband USB device.

Any assistance would be appriciated.

Hey all,

 

I've hunted high and low to dig up some younger firmware for this old 312U. I could connect it to the 3G router (years ago) now that I'm in a position with a linked sim and doing (what I thought) the right thing and updating the firmware has put a stop to that! It has the latest at the mo TelstraAC312U-N2_0_8_6bt-N2_0_8_6ap but would love folks to dig through there E-Stuff and find anything younger.

 

Oh and if any mods would like to source the MEP/unlock code I'd be even happier

I have been using an old version of Turbo Telstra Connection Manager on Mac OSX 10.10 successfully to date.  I use a Telstra Mobile Data SIM, not a Bigpond SIM.   When I upgraded my Mac to El Capitan (OSX 10.11) the software stopped working.   Is there a newer version of the software available and how do I get it ?    Or can it be set up natively in the Mac ?

 

The modem is the ZTE MF633BP 7.2

I was having problems with duplicate emails being downloaded. I was on the Telstra 24/7 chat site trying to resolve the problem when my connection to the internet dropped out. I went back to 24/7 chat and it dRopped again. I did this  5 times. I am now unable to connect to the Internet. The modem is Sierra Wireless 760s. It shows error 29 connection failed. Is there something the chat site did to cause the problem or is this coincidential. 

During the discussion it was found I was out of contract. I would need to pay an extra $25 p/m to get the same download. There was no mention of disconnecting the service. My account shows the original plan is current.

What does error 29 mean. Is my modem faulty or is it just that I need a new plan. I have taken the modem to a Telstra shop and they tried to sell me a new one. I only wish we had more options than Testra being in the North East of Victoria.

Any advise for an aged pensioner appreciated. Have a good day.

I have had a Sierra Wireless Dongle for my mobile Broadband for two years or more and have used it on at least four computers.  It works on my desktop with Windows 8.1.  When I try to use it on a new laptop with Windows 8.1 the computer does not recognise the device, and the dongle comes up with Error 651.  Telstra help line could not help me, and said I had to subscribe to Telstra Premium support.  Is this a problem with the dongle or the computer?  I need to know where to start looking for a solution.

Does anyone know anything about replacing a battery for the Netgear 4G Advanced Wi-Fi modem? Its saying it cant detect the battery, but it appears to be still working with a cable.

Hi

 

According to this thread, it appears that Tech Support can provide an unlock code for the Netgear 'Sierra Wireless' Aircard 760S.

 

However, both Customer Service and Tech Support advise that the wifi modems cannot be unlocked from the Telstra network.

 

Does anyone have any experience obtaining an unlock code for their wifi modem from Telstra?

I know this question has been asked but there has been little or no response.  The software does not work after upgrading to El Capitan.  After reinstaling it says incompatible.  The software finds the modem and a network but wont connect - either tells me the username and password are incorrect or APN settings are worng.  Very frustrating - 8GB of data wasted.  I hope they reimburse me for my trouble.  

 

You would think Telstra would man up and respond to these issues.

I was given the link below by the Telstra chat line last night to solve the incompatibility problem between my old "Bigpond Ultimate Wireless Broadband USB Modem" and Windows 10 on my new laptop.
